Guildford Based Music Education Company Scoops National Award
Guildford based company ‘The School Musicals Company’ has scooped a prestigious national award at this year’s ‘Music Teacher Awards For Excellence’ in London’s Park Lane.
The Surrey company secured the top spot in the ‘Outstanding Musical Theatre/Drama’ category for their innovative range of school musicals, nativities and songbooks aimed at Primary Schools and Key Stage 3. The company, which was launched in January 2017, previously secured the runners up position in the same category last year.
‘With music education in schools very much in the spotlight, we want to give children, teachers and youth-theatre leaders the most enjoyable, meaningful and stress-free experience that we possibly can. Everything we create comes from that starting point and it is wonderful to hear that we are fulfilling that promise” said Matthew Crossey, Creative Director.

The School Musicals Company is now officially open for business and raring to go. Launching with three brand new musicals, it is set to shake up the world of school musicals, providing children and teachers alike with funny, dramatic and meaningful scripts, wonderful characters, catchy, contemporary songs and a host of extras to help ensure that each and every production is a triumph.
Founded by musician Matthew Crossey and writer/teacher Tom Kirkham, The School Musicals Company understands what children want to perform, how teachers want to rehearse, and what makes a great story. With two more musicals and a songbook in the pipeline, they are all set to provide a wonderful array of top-quality shows for years to come.
