The School Musicals Company – Remarkable? You decide.

We’ve all been there. Well, no, not everyone. Some people are blissfully unaware of the sleepless nights, manic multi-tasking and ever-increasing coffee consumption that accompany directing a school production. But, for those who know the process only too well, how often have you wished that it could be made just a little simpler? And thought how easy it would be to make it so? Like by having an editable version of the script so that you could make all those inevitable changes you need to make in order for it to fit your needs, but without staying up long into the night typing up each and every painstaking line. Or by having the option to have everything available to download immediately – script, supporting information, backing tracks, instrumentals for scene changes. Or even something as simple as being told which characters appear in which scene, or the page numbers that particular props are required.

Here at The School Musicals Company, we are constantly astounded at how difficult some companies make the process. Of course the book should have guidance on how to adapt for smaller or larger casts (when has any school production had the exact number of children for the exact number of parts!). And of course the book binding should be glued as well as sewn – these books are going to see a lot of use during the rehearsal process and the last thing you want is for pages to keep falling out.

Then there’s the actual content of the shows. Surely it is just common sense to spread the roles out so that as many children as possible get a chance to perform meaningful characters? Surely the songs should be as catchy as possible without being overly long and unnecessarily repetitive? And, even if you want to create the most dramatic, poignant piece imaginable, surely first and foremost a children’s play that is funny has much more chance of engaging each and every child, providing them with a meaningful and even life-changing experience.

What Makes Pantastic Completely Fantastic

Last, but by no means least, wouldn’t it be nice to know that you could pick up the phone at any time and talk to one of the writers about your production, bounce ideas off someone or seek clarification and guidance.

We want you all to have a wonderful time when putting on one of our shows. It’s the reason we started the company in the first place. So we will do whatever we can to make that happen. And if we possibly can, we’ll even come to watch!
