We are delighted that a number of our songs have been chosen as part of the ABRSM Musical Theatre syllabus. These songs are fun to learn, full of character and enable students to develop essential musical theatre skills. They feature in some of our most popular primary school musicals, including The Wizard Of Oz, The Jungle Book, A-la-la-la-la-laddin, Pantastic, and Wonderland. 

With each of our ABRSM Musical Theatre packs, you will receive a vocal and backing track, sheet music, melody line and lyric sheet so you’re fully prepared for the exam.

What does the ABRSM Musical Theatre Syllabus entail?

ABRSM is the UK’s largest music education body and the world’s leading provider of music exams. A Musical Theatre exam can be taken as a Practical Grade or a Performance Grade.

A Practical Grade exam consists of:

• Three accompanied songs: to help students practice interacting with another musician.
• One unaccompanied song (a cappella): to help students train their ear, prepare for auditions and increase confidence.
• Sight-singing: to help students join in with new music at short notice.
• Aural tests: to help students develop listening skills and musical ear.

Our songs ‘Higher and Higher’, ‘Not Having Me for Their Tea’, ‘Leader of the Pack’, ‘Snake Eyes’ and 'King Of The Jungle' are all good options for signing accompanied or a cappella.

A Performance Grade exam consists of:

• Three accompanied songs from the repertoire lists.
• One accompanied own-choice song.
